StructuresI have one very large house and two a little smaller in 1 inch scale. I've created "islands". Buy 2 inexpensive wooden microwave carts (like at KMart) and a cheap hollow core door. Lay the door with a cart at each end. These carts usually have shelves or cupboards underneath for storage. Also the plastic drawer units fit underneath on either side, between the carts, for a lot more storage.

On the very large house I stapled a sheet to the door and trimmed it to the floor. Looks nice and you can't see the storage units.
